OBJECTIVE: The primary objective of the project is to transform the cake design lab into a highly functional and efficient workspace, optimizing the layout and workflow to enhance the quality of creations and productivity. The redesign aims to create a modern, well-equipped lab capable of supporting the preparation of artistic cakes and meeting the demands of a creative pastry service.

REQUIREMENTS:

The main needs guiding the project include:

  • Space Optimization: The lab spaces needed to be organized efficiently to ensure a smooth workflow and easy access to all equipment and ingredients.
  • Equipment Upgrades: Specific equipment for working with fondant, creams, and other cake decoration materials had to be installed.
  • Workflow Improvement: The goal was to establish logical and efficient workflows, reducing preparation times and ensuring a high-quality final product.
  • System Upgrades: Electrical and plumbing systems had to be updated to meet new demands, ensuring maximum safety and functionality.
  • Safe and Comfortable Work Environment: The new layout needed to provide a safe and comfortable workspace for staff, facilitating operations and minimizing the risk of accidents.

SOLUTION:

  • New Layout Design: A new layout for the lab was created, dividing the space into well-defined areas for preparing different cake components (sponge cake, fillings, decorations), a dedicated assembly zone, and a storage area for ingredients and tools.
  • Installation of New Equipment: New professional equipment was installed, including stand mixers, precision scales, height-adjustable work tables, refrigerators, freezers, and specialized tools for working with fondant.
  • System Upgrades: New electrical and plumbing connections were installed, ensuring maximum safety and system functionality. Additionally, a ventilation system was implemented to remove dust and particles generated during work.
  • Creation of Display Cases: Illuminated display cases were installed to showcase cakes and pastries, creating an elegant and inviting atmosphere.
